A History of Portland Boychoir and Ovation!
An all-boys choir was first established in the Portland Metro area in 1994 by members of the Portland Symphonic Choir under the name Portland Symphonic Boychoir. In the fall of 2000, Dr. David York assumed the post of Artistic Director. In August 2003, the boys' program became independent with the formation of the non-profit organization Portland Boychoir. A uniquely focused girls' auxiliary program was added in August 2005.
